About Research Rochester

Research Rochester events allow prospective students to find out what it’s really like to study at the University of Rochester.  This fall, both virtual and on campus programs will be offered.

These open houses for prospective students are your ideal opportunity to get an inside look at the University of Rochester.

  • Experience Rochester. Discover the curriculum, research opportunities, and what makes Rochester unique.

What to expect

Our virtual open houses provide you with a more in-depth learning opportunity. The sessions on each day are hosted on a continuous Zoom webinar, with breaks between each session and the ability to “come and go” depending on your interest(s).

Our on campus open houses give you with a chance for a student-led tour of campus, sessions on the financial aid process, student panels, and the opportunity to get all your questions answered by current Rochester students as well as admissions and financial aid counselors.

The schedule for our on campus events will be posted soon, so watch this space!

Below is what to expect for our virtual Research Rochester programs:

Time Event
40 minutes Welcome and University overview

Robert Alexander, dean of admissions, financial aid, and enrollment management, will welcome attendees to our virtual Research Rochester and provide an overview of what makes the Rochester experience special. Learn about our unique Rochester Curriculum, undergraduate research and experiential learning opportunities, and global campus environment. Additionally, hear about how the University of Rochester has navigated the COVID-19 pandemic.

Current Rochester students will speak from locations on campus, showcasing a dining hall, the campus center, library, gym, and a residence hall room. The session will then transition to an interactive, moderated panel with time for questions and answers.
