Multicultural Visitation Program

University of Rochester’s Multicultural Visitation Program (MVP) brings together prospective students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds and allows them to experience Rochester on a more personal level. Current high school seniors attending school in the United States are invited to apply.

The fall 2022 MVP Experience was held in conjunction with our November 11 Research Rochester Open House. Prospective students who were accepted to MVP received free travel to Rochester on November 10 and back home, a one-night stay with a current student host in a residence hall, and specialized programming.

MVP Application

Acceptance to MVP is selective as space is limited. The deadline to apply for fall 2022 MVP was Monday, October 10 at 5 p.m. ET. The application for fall 2023 MVP will launch in late summer 2023.

The fall 2022 MVP application is now closed.

About MVP

Members of our University community come from different geographical areas. They also represent differences in ethnicities, religious beliefs, values, socioeconomic backgrounds, and points of view. They may be physically different, have different intellectual interests, or have different abilities. Rochester welcomes such differences and is dedicated to preparing the leaders of tomorrow to thrive in an equally diverse environment.

MVP events include topics like:

  • First-generation student experience at Rochester
  • Academic and other services for underrepresented and low-income students
  • University of Rochester’s commitment to equity and anti-racism
