Shopping
“The Public Market is one of my favorite outdoor places in Rochester. It is a great place to find locally sourced fresh produce, baked goods, and more. Personally, I will go even if I don’t need to purchase anything to get a cup of coffee, find some food, or just wander around.”

“Ice skating at MLK Jr. Park was one of the first things I did in the city as a first-year. I went with friends, and had so much fun learning to skate on their outdoor rink. It is a great way to get off campus and see the city, and is close to many restaurants and cafes for when you need to warm up after.”

Coffee
“Java’s Cafe is probably my favorite because it is somewhere you can visit at any time of the year. As a student, it is a dependable, familiar place to visit with friends, and the aesthetic is super chill and conducive to studying or hanging out. Not to mention the coffee and pastries are good, too!”

Road trips
“I really like Letchworth State Park because it is a huge outdoor area where you can go hiking and sightseeing. The canyons, gorges, and waterfalls are breathtaking and every time you visit, the park will look different depending on the season. I highly recommend going in the fall to see the leaves!”
