The college admissions interview has become an essential part of the application and review process at Rochester. The interview offers us the opportunity to sit down and have a face-to-face conversation. We offer interviews on campus (they started in May), and we began hosting off-campus interviews as early as June around different parts of the country.
From September through December, in the Midwest region alone, we will be hosting over 65 different off-campus interview events in nine states. This includes, for the first time, an opportunity to interview with us over Skype. This is in addition to the opportunity to interview with alumni, should that prove more convenient. You only need one interview; when and where is up to you.
The bottom line is that if you want to interview, we will bend over backward to help make that happen.
Why interview? The simple answer is that we want to get to know you. In a holistic review process, the value of having the opportunity to look someone in the eye and just have an honest conversation cannot be overstated. Furthermore, if you consider that we will spend somewhere between 20-30 minutes reading your application, you literally double the time we spend on you when you interview. Schedule an on-campus interview with one of us.
Or, schedule an off-campus interview if that's more convenient.
If you have any questions, or if we can be helpful in any way, please let us know. We look forward to meeting you in person!
