Our Team

Hello! My name is Miki Chiu (she/her), and I was born in Hong Kong but grew up in New York City. I’m currently a third-year student studying Business, deciding between entrepreneurship and marketing. Since coming to URochester, I’ve gotten involved in so many different parts of campus life. I’ve served as Publicity Chair for the D’Lion Organization, performed as a singer with NJR, and been a sister in Chi Omega. I’m also a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a community service fraternity, where I’ve served as Historian and Pledge Educator and currently serve as Publicity Chair. Outside of my extracurriculars, I work at the Language Center as a Chinese tutor, where I get to help other students practice and host weekly Conversation Hours! When I’m not running around campus, I love singing, walking my dog, cooking, listening to music, and collecting blind boxes! As an Admissions Blogger, I’m super excited to share all the little moments that make college life memorable. I hope my posts can give prospective students a glimpse into what it’s really like to be a student here and help you imagine what your own URochester experience could look like!

Hello! My name is Alex Holly (they/them) and I’m from Chicago, IL. I’m currently a fifth-year student studying “Gender, Body and the Performing Arts”, but I just graduated with a B.S. in Brain & Cognitive Sciences with minors in Audio Music Engineering and Digital Media Studies. I also studied abroad with DIS Copenhagen. On campus, I’m heavily involved with student theatre (Drama House, OBOC, TOOP, & Roc Players) and serve as the Engagement Coordinator and a Senior Staff member for the Campus Times. Outside of extracurriculars, I’m also a research assistant at SoNIC (Science of Neural, Interpersonal Communication) Lab and a lifeguard at the Goergen Athletic Center. I like to spend my free time making music, going for bike rides & swims, cooking, and crafting with whatever materials I can find. Super excited to show you around my world at URochester!

My name is Sarah Kideckel, and I am a senior from outside Philadelphia majoring in psychology with minors in Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Legal Studies, and Jewish Studies on a pre-law track. Outside of the classroom, I am the President of Club Tennis. I am involved in the Medallion Leadership Society, Mock Trial, and Wind Symphony. I also enjoy playing my flute in the Varsity Marching Pep Band and participating in events with Hillel and Chabad. I am the Lead First-Year Fellow for the First-Year Hill, and I am also a Research Assistant in the Cognitive Development Lab, where I am conducting my honors thesis on jurors’ perceptions of child testimony. I enjoy taking walks on campus, and sometimes you can find me giving a tour, as  a Meridian or information sessions, as a student Admissions Associate.

Hi! My name is Grace McMahan, and I am a junior from New Jersey, just outside NYC. I am double-majoring in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Business with a cluster in Graphic Design. I hope to pursue a career in user experience design and product management after graduation. Outside of academics, I am involved with Greek Life on campus, the Alzheimer’s Awareness Association, and Rochester Design Hub. In addition to being a blogger, I also work at the Campus Information Desk in Wilson Commons. In my free time, I love to read, test out new baking recipes, and spend time exploring Rochester with my friends. You can usually find me grabbing coffee at Starbucks or studying in PRR!

My name is Naima, and I am a senior graduating in December 2026. I am double majoring in Psychology and American Sign Language, with plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology after graduating. I am from New York City and was born and raised in Manhattan. My favorite color is orange, despite all the black clothes I wear. My favorite sport is rugby, which I played throughout middle school and high school. I love watching anime and playing video games in my free time. I also enjoy satisfying my intellectual curiosity through a constant search for knowledge (AKA, I am a questioner).

Hi! My name is Chelsea Pham and I’m from Manchester, NH. I’m an epidemiology and microbiology major in the HEAL (4+1) program with a humanities cluster in Ethics and Values. Outside of the classroom, I am a campus EMT, volunteer with Perfect Pair, and programming chair for the Class Council. When I am not doing these things, you can find me in the Humanities Center or watching basketball with friends!

Hi, my name is Hannah Smith! I’m originally from Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C., but now call Western Massachusetts home when I’m not in Rochester. I’m currently a senior majoring in English: Language, Media, & Communication with a minor in Digital Media Studies. On campus, I’m the Features Editor for the Campus Times and a Student Social Media Strategist and Content Creator with University Marketing and Communications, where I get to help share what life at Rochester looks like across the University’s social media platforms. I’ve also explored my interest in journalism through newsroom internships at WXXI Public Media and WROC-TV News 8. Outside of academics and work, I love photography, trying new restaurants with friends, and swimming with the Masters Swim program at URochester. I’m passionate about storytelling and finding creative ways to connect with people, and I’m excited to make the most of my senior year!
