So Many Activities!!

Summer in Rochester is pretty awesome, but since there are so relatively few students on campus, it can be hard to find things to do sometimes. But being the awesome RA's that we are here in Hoeing, we were prepared.

Every night we have a few different activities that the RA's run. It gives options for students, but we also try to stagger them in case everyone wants to do more than one thing. We have brought over 40 students to Coldstone (I think they were a little overwhelmed when we all piled into their store), we had a volleyball tournament, and we painted the tunnel that runs under the Eastman Quadrangle. Those are only a few of the activities we have done as well. We have plans for Darien Lake, Seabreeze, and even dance and karaoke nights! It would take forever to list all of the ones we have going on, and I can't even remember all of them anyway! I love going to the activities with the residents and participating with them. They are a lot of fun and we all get into them.

I love seeing friendships grow in such a short amount of time, and I feel like all of these residents could fit into our school. These programs are great for giving high school students a chance to see what the University of Rochester is like. Even though they have to follow different rules and don't have the busy, full campus like we do during the academic year, I would argue that the social life everyone is leading right now is not much different from a lot of Rochester students. We all get along, we all have fun, and we all are accepting of each other.

I can only assume that our residents are having as much as us RA's, but from the looks of it, I am pretty confident I am right.
