PRESENTS

ROLY POLY at the University of Rochester!

Roly Poly Hon

As vice president of KASA, I decided to make a music video parody with other performance groups on campus. I choice a Korean-pop (K-pop) song called "Roly Poly," by T-ara (pronounced Tiara).

The song was a huge hit in Korea last summer because of its upbeat and over-the-top '70s/'80s retro theme.
Check out the teaser of the original song here:

I've been working on this video on and off throughout the entire school year. I learned and taught the choreography, directed and edited the film, and even put aside any embarrassment and wore a kangaroo kigurumi all over campus. (Definitely raised a lot of eyebrows.) It was a lot of work, and I often doubted myself, but in the end, I managed to pull it off somehow.

I shot all the footage with my iPhone and edited it with Final Cut Pro X. Fortunately, many of the Mac computers in the ITS Center have Final Cut Pro X, so I didn't have to purchase the expensive software on my own.

ENJOY!
