Rochester for the Holidays!

While students are feeling stressed for finals, the University of Rochester was getting ready for the winter season. Check out some photos below!

Rush Rhees is glowing with spirit! Students were treated to multiple holiday-themed study breaks during finals. Lots of different clubs and organizations hosted fun activities such as cookie decorating and hot cocoa parties.

Students are invited by Chi Omega to write their holiday wishes in support of Make-A-Wish Foundation. Shout out to Chi Omega and silver Sharpies for making an amazing difference in the world.

Eastman is especially decorated for the holidays. This tapestry reminded me of my mom’s beautiful singing voice—We always sing this one for Christmas. We took a classic Holiday Card photo to celebrate.

The dorms got fancy, too! The lobby on each floor had little flourishes of decoration. My RA Fiona made an adorable bulletin board of penguins with study tips (she makes the best bulletin boards; it is a known fact).

What really got me in the holiday spirit was hearing Christmas tunes. Not only did the dining halls play a non-stop holiday playlist (with many obscure remixes I might add), but the University performance groups also gave their takes on some of the classics. I was lucky enough to hear the Women’s Choir perform in Kilbourn Hall. They sang one of my favorite gospel spirituals, “Children Go Where I Send Thee.”

Of course, the best holiday gift of all is the chance to get home to my family. Happy Holidays and best of luck on applications!
