Hello, everyone! Now that we’re well into the fall semester, I think this is a great time to introduce you all to my new home for this semester, Anderson Tower! Located “behind” the baseball field and Susan B. Anthony Residence Halls, Anderson is one of three towers that make up Jackson Court.
My three favourite things about living in Anderson are…
1. Personal bathroom and lounge
Unlike first-year housing, my suite comes with a bathroom and a lounge, and I find that pretty awesome! I am especially happy about the bathroom, given that sharing one with 24 women last year was a bit hectic at times. My suite mates and I have worked to make our lounge very warm and homey, adding our personal touches with a 6-foot-long yogi bean bag and a TV. Besides these, we have a dining table, a micro-fridge, and plenty of storage space (yes, we’re almost real adults!).
2. My double room
While most people wouldn’t want to live in a double again (willingly), I am really pumped about it because I get to live with my old roommate, Liz! We both have an unofficial understanding that we’re going to stay roommates for all four years of college, and this is Year 2! Our room is the perfect size and features a cardboard cutout of Liz’s dog, Ginger, my stuffed groundhog, Delta, and an amazing view of the baseball field.
3. My suite mates!
This year, I have four new people living with me, and I couldn’t be more excited! All of us have similar majors and interests, so it’s easy for us to connect and find time to spend together! Be it sharing classes, grabbing dinner, doing homework, or watching TV together, I love living with my F.R.I.E.N.D.S. (puns are life), and it is definitely something I could get used to.
Six-person suite, personal bathroom, a great view—life is Anderson Tower is something I’m starting to enjoy! Now that I’m no longer living in first-year housing, I feel like I’m growing up a bit, even if it is one step at a time! And who knows where junior year housing will take me…
