Introducing MyinTuition
What is it?
MyinTuition is a quick and easy online tool for prospective students and families to get a customized estimate of the cost of a year at the University of Rochester, along with thirty other institutions.
Using just six simple elements of a family’s finances, MyinTuition is not only able to determine an estimate of overall costs, but even breaks down how much aid might be allotted as grants versus loans versus a work expectation.
With MyinTuition, a prospective student and their family can get a good handle on the broader financial implications of a year at the University, and not just a bottom line.
Who is it for?
MyinTuition is designed to be used by first-year applicants to the University of Rochester’s four-year undergraduate programs in our College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering. Most especially, it’s for those families who might see the cost of college and assume that it will be just too much to handle.
With MyinTuition, families in all financial situations can get a sense of just how affordable a year at Rochester can be with the benefit of financial assistance.
In our own words
There are a lot of great things to be said about this new tool. Sam Veeder, Director of Financial Aid and Associate Dean for College Enrollment, puts it this way:
“Understanding the true cost of college can be frustrating for students and parents. At Rochester, we are committed to affordability through our robust merit- and need-based financial aid programs and want to provide tools to prospective students that allow them to quickly and easily understand what their financial aid eligibility and costs will be so that they can continue through the process of applying for admission and financial aid with transparent and realistic expectations.
MyinTuition is that tool and we are pleased to be able to provide it to our students.”
