Class Council Update

As I mentioned earlier, I am the President of the 2016 Class Council and I thought that I would tell you more about what Class Council does. People often think that we’re in charge of various rules, initiatives, etc. on campus but that’s actually the role of people on the Senate. Class Council programs events for their class to make sure that the year is as enjoyable as possible. We’re given a solid budget to create awesome events to help our fellow classmates to bond and de-stress throughout the year.

I just made a post about our first co-sponsored event, the Class of 2014’s Haunted Hayride event, which was an absolute success. We’re looking to co-sponsor with other Class Councils, and after bonding over the haunted hayride we’re getting to know each other a lot better.

One event in the works is an event to get freshmen out into the city of Rochester to see the legendary Museum of Play and to finally get their answers to the question “WHAT IS A GARBAGE PLATE?” at Nick Tahou’s. I’m really excited to finish setting that event up and start advertising it because I know a lot of people are going to be excited for it.

Ulrik, our council’s publicity chair, came up with the idea to make an introduction video for our Class Council so that our constituents would be able to recognize us in person. We had a lot of fun making this video and I thought that I would share it with you guys as well 🙂
