Class Council Held Haunted Hayride Event

I had my first co-sponsored event for Class Council on October 26, and it was an awesome event. The 2014 Class Council planned a haunted hayride event for anyone in the school to attend, and asked the other class councils to co-sponsor the event, and help them financially. Our council helped them set up the event and I volunteered to represent us there. We went to Haunted Hayrides of Greater Rochester in Williamson, NY.

Class Council subsidized the cost of tickets and ran three buses to Williamson for the event. The tickets only cost $5 for the students even though they typically cost $17 if you went to Williamson yourself. Did I mention that we didn’t even have to wait in line when we got there? There was a massive 2-hour line and because we’d planned ahead and pre-ordered the tickets, we got to go through a VIP line.

At the haunted hayride there was also a house of illusions and a horror house with actors that scared you in the dark of a creepy themed building. The actual hayride was pretty terrifying because they had a lot of actors and they would jump out of the woods and grab people who were on the tractor. There was also a host who narrated lore about the various areas you rode through and he had a really elaborate script filled with puns. I wish I could have gotten a video or photos but they didn’t allow for any photography.

This event is a Class Council tradition and has been going on for the last couple years. The event sold out really quickly because everyone knows that it’s a good time. Definitely keep your eyes open around this time next year and pick up tickets to the event before it sells out!
