So, winter break has run its course, and now we are back at the University of Rochester for the second semester of the 2011-2012 school year. Personally, I am so happy winter break is over. It was nice to see my friends every once in a while again, but really, being home means working and being in the real world. I still prefer being a young adult in college. Working is not all that great. Stay in school, kids.
It was nice to relax my mind from stress and schoolwork, but I am ready to see my friends again and eat at Danforth and get back to the fun of the weekends. Winter break for me is really just about celebrating the holidays. We had Christmas, we had New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day; what more could I ask for? I was starting to get really bored at home. At least college is stimulating.
And of course, here in Rochester, the snow didn’t come until the very end of the break, which is very unusual, but who knows? Maybe it is here to stay! I know some will be much happier than others if this is true, or perhaps “very few” will be much happier than others, but only time will tell.
It is time to get back in the habit of setting alarms for classes, planning our days around meals, meeting even more people, and having fun with our friends once again. This is going to be a great semester, and I am so excited that we are back!
