A Little About Myself

Hey, my name is Devin Embil, and I am a student of the Class of 2013 at the University of Rochester. I was born in Florida but have lived most of my life in Istanbul, Turkey. I went to an English-speaking Turkish school and consequently am fluent in both English and Turkish (and I can also speak French!). When I first came to the University of Rochester, I didn't know what I wanted to study. I developed a passion for film and filmmaking and decided to double major in film and media studies and the undergraduate business program. With everything I learn, I am able to apply my skills and knowledge on and off campus.

I love music and movies. I am involved with UR Concerts, the group in charge of organizing and putting on shows and concerts on campus. In addition, I have been playing the piano for many years, and I play the drums. I greatly enjoy playing music with others. Furthermore, I love watching and making movies. I hope to one day become a filmmaker and spread my thoughts and visions throughout the movies I make.

Through my video blogs, I will show you parts of the campus and life here at Rochester from a student's point of view, to give you a better understanding of why I truly love this University.
