Sunday brunch is the highlight of my weekend and is essential for every college student’s diet. When looking for a college it is absolutely essential to know and try out the best eateries in the area. Breakfast, aka the most supreme food group is my raison d’être. As a self-proclaimed brunch connoisseur myself, I will rate the top five brunch spots in Rochester. I encourage you to try out all these places and decide which brunch spot is the best!

Mt. Hope Diner

Mt. Hope Diner is conveniently located in the heart of college town. Though seemingly unimpressive from the outside, Mt. Hope Diner has a vast assortment of breakfast foods for an incredibly reasonable price. This diner is the perfect place to recover in after a night of…intense studying and their unlimited refills of freshly brewed coffee is _ for any coffee addict like myself. Go hungry and come with a group of friends and be prepared for large servings of pancakes and home fries galore. Score: 5/10.

Jines

Jines is an adorable diner located in the heart of Park Ave, one of the city’s cutest shopping districts. I highly recommend getting one of their famous omelets and a cup of their house brewed hot chocolate. Score: 6/10

The Frog Pond

The Frog Pond, also located in the incredibly adorable Park Ave shopping/restaurant district is an adorable brunch spot with a beautiful and quirky atmosphere. This brunch spot has a 1920’s meets 2020’s type of vibe and is decorated with beautiful paintings and original crown molding. Their Huevos Rancheros breakfast plate is my go-to. You will definitely leave this spot feeling satisfied and yearning for Gatsby. Score: 7/10

Locals Only

Locals Only is a super trendy brunch spot located in the heart of the city and serves the most “Instagrammable” avocado toasts, omelets, and pancakes. The modern ambiance and perfectly curated décor is the ideal backdrop for a vibey Sunday afternoon. In addition to beautifully crafted plates of food, Locals Only serves delicious brunch cocktails and mocktails, ideal for every upperclassman! Score: 8/10

Brown Hound Downtown

Brown Hound Downtown is hands down my favorite brunch spot in all of Rochester. This adorable restaurant is located inside the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG). As you enter the museum building you’ll find yourself amazed by the beautiful architecture and art that surrounds you. Inside the restaurant you’ll be greeted by paintings of dogs and the smell of delicious brunch food all around you. After finishing your meal, you can use your University of Rochester student discount and get free entrance into the MAG. Score: 11/10
