The End of Fall Semester: Finals Week

After a long finals week, I am so happy to be writing this blog post from home! The end of the semester tends to get tense with exams and final papers all winding down. But I wouldn't want to be anywhere else other than Rochester because even though everyone is stressed studying for exams, students at that U of R help each other get through the last week of the semester.

From organic chemistry to genetics, public health to philosophy, literally everyone on campus is studying away. But your friends are always by your side, making sure you're focused, but getting through your work at the same time. The U of R student body is so supportive when you're worried, and it's what really contributes to making the U of R one of the best private universities in America. Everyone is a family.

There are usually five days during which final exams are given, but before that there is a three-day reading period when you do not have classes and you have those days to study. During those three days, we have campus-wide study breaks during which different student organizations give out free snacks and beverages, and it's a great chance to get out of the library and hang out and talk to some of your friends. The school also brings in puppies to play with, which most students really enjoy!

Overall, finals are certainly a time to focus on your exams and academics, but the unique U of R student body really comes together as a family, helping one another get through a stressful time. And at the end of it all, you can look forward to getting a break and going home for the holidays! Nothing is more motivating than knowing that you get three weeks off to eat, relax, watch TV, and sleep!
