Meliora Weekend 2013!

One of my favorite activities at the University of Rochester is being a member of the Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAAs). SAAs represent a very select group of students chosen to represent the current student perspective and outlook to thousands of U of R alumni. Alumni continue to rave about Rochester's academic opportunities, open curriculum, and undergraduate research.

I had a great time over Meliora Weekend because I actually got to give campus tours to members of the Class of 1963 50th Reunion, and attended the Reunion Dinner for the 25th Reunion of the Class of 1987, each of which was a humbling experience. Alumni loved sharing their stories and their experiences. One couple actually shared with me exactly where they met on the U of R campus, and the great things they have done since together as a couple. All in all, it was a great experience; I ate some delicious food, and networked with some interesting U of R alumni.

Prospective students, this is a weekend you won't want to miss. Other highlights included a keynote speech from former US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, comedian Demetri Martin, and finally, Mel Talks, talks given by professors and faculty working in the up-and-coming fields of research.
