Sorry for the delay with the blogs; it’s been an incredibly hectic second semester. Now that it has finally come to an end, I can conclude that it was indeed better than my first. One of my goals is to make every semester better than the last, just as every chapter in my life should be a greater experience than any previous chapter.
This past semester, I had quite a few great successes: I received the RA position, joined Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, was re-elected as president of the 2016 Class Council, and met an unreal number of people (I would estimate that I met close to 200+ people this semester).
With that, I had a few failures as well: my final exam results weren’t what I expected, I failed to find meaningful summer employment (I recommend checking out the Career Center!), and I ended up being frequently sick during that last month of school, thus, ending my workout routine.
I do not regret my failures or believe that my successes fully outweigh them. I still believe that this semester was a learning experience and I hope that I learned as much I think I have. Due to my failure to find meaningful summer employment, I am currently spending my time doing my own goal-setting and personal development. A year ago, I don’t think I would have been able to manage my time wisely; now, however, after a year of living independently and balancing all of my extracurricular activities, I believe that I possess the skills and discipline to do this.
I’m planning to find a part-time job so I can save up money for various opportunities that may present themselves to me next year. But I probably won't work more than 20 hours a week.
There will be more information about my goal-setting and summer plans as I figure more of it out. If you haven’t checked out the following blog posts, I highly recommend that you do. Utilize this summer to develop your skills, have meaningful experiences, and prepare for the best year of your life thus far:
