I’ve been at school for almost two months now and it has been some of the most fun I have ever had. There’s always something going on to keep you entertained and give you a break after you’ve been studying.
This year we’ve already had two performers come to the University of Rochester: The Office’s Craig Robinson and Chiddy Bang. Craig Robinson was quite the entertainer between his comedy routine, singing abilities, and general funny personality.
Chiddy Bang put on quite the show; I had never really listened to him and I had fun at his performance. I was most impressed by his freestyle in which he rhymed: Nigeria, Rick Ross, Solo cups, optics, YOLO, and Rochester. He owns the record for the longest freestyle ever.
On top of those two performers visiting, there have been sports games, puppies brought to Georgen Athletic Center, numerous concerts from on-campus acts, and even post-Orientation events. Since I mentioned the word Orientation in my post, I would like to take this time to thank Eleanor Oi and her team for all of the hard work they put into Orientation; it was AN AWESOME TIME!
Our second to last Orientation event was called our Sweet Sixteen event because it was held 16 days after Orientation. I was actually recognized at the event, as were the other members of the Freshman body who were elected to Class Council or Senate. There were also piñatas filled with candy, UR swag, and other prizes! Here’s a video of me and two of my fellow members of Class Council, Mikako Hirata and Alex Dwuilt, sitting under one of the piñatas to be showered in candy:
I hope that you are all enjoying yourselves as well! If anyone has any questions or ideas for topics they want me to blog about, tweet at me @URGrant2016 or comment below!
